In recent years, global demand for high-resolution, high-quality TFT LCDs in the automotive marketplace has grown rapidly, replacing traditional analog and passive digital display technologies. India, home to the world’s largest two-wheeler market, is expected to see a significant surge in demand for TFT LCD displays.

The new joint venture, EDT-India, will be located at a new facility within the premises of NS Instruments India Private Ltd. (hereinafter “NSIP”), a subsidiary of Nippon Seiki in India. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025, with operations starting in the fall of 2026 and full-scale mass production set for 2027.
This collaboration will allow Nippon Seiki to deliver the latest display technology for vehicles to customers more quickly, meeting strong and growing market demand. Furthermore, the transition of TFT LCD module production from overseas facilities to domestic manufacturing within India will help reduce tariff rates and packaging and transportation costs, enhancing Nippon Seiki’s overall price competitiveness in the market.
